Ping Baby

It's hard to believe that 6 months of this pregnancy have gone by and I haven't documented a bit of it.  We got this pic (along with some others) at our anatomy scan at the end of March...and that was almost a month ago! Where has the time gone? Well, I can tell you it has been spent engrossed with all the new and exciting things Corinne is doing as of late...she is such a cool 3 year old!  She is insistent that "it's a girl in there" but I keep reminding her that the doctor says it's a boy.  I wasn't feeling well the other day and she kept telling me, "I want to take care of my baby brober, mommy," which I thought was sweet.  She has had fun looking at the baby's clothes and the new bitty cloth diapers we bought him.  I think she's warming up to the idea, but probably really has no idea yet. Back to Baby Ping- he is doing well, measuring healthy and quite active (as was Corinne).  It has been fun to be in the baby kicking stage, as it is one of the things I really missed about being pregnant after I had Corinne.  There is something very comforting about knowing that your baby is growing and thriving away as you go about your normal routine.

Corinne is keeping us busy (and is probably why this pregnancy has gone by so quickly!) I've noticed that her experience at Pre School has been really good for her (and me).  She is learning so much and I am amazed everyday at what she comes home knowing.  She has really become quite the acrobat on the jungle gym (though I still wince everytime I see her climb so high or drop down to swing from one of the high bars) and has even begun to like to slide down big slides by herself.  She also now knows how to pump her legs on the swing (so, according to her, she can go "super high"). I guess that's a lot of gross motor development, but after being a late walker, it's good to see her keep up with her peers.

We went in for Corinne's 3 year apointment and were pleased to hear that she is growing up beautifully (not that we didn't know that, just that the confirmation was nice. ha!). She's still on the small side- 34" (.9%) and 26 lbs (10%), but that's continuing along her own little growth line.  The Ped. also asked if we thought she had a vocabulary of 200-300 words (which sounds so high to me!). I guessed that she probably did, but went home later and tried to list them all.  I got tired around 360...and have thought of even more that I didn't have on the list, so I feel confident in that area of her development.  We've been working on sharing full thoughts (i.e."Mommy may I please have some milk?" and not just single words or phrases) and manners...though they are often lost on her.  I feel lucky that I have such a sweet and happy little girl...whoever thought that was a description of a toddler!

Overall, we are doing well.  We are excited to share in these last few months as a family of 3, and even more excited to be a family of 4.
