I need to schedule blog time into my day! It's hard to keep up with, especially with teaching, and finishing up my ELL certification. I have 50 chapters of a text book I need to be reading and responding to; however, my 1000+ page book club book is understandably consuming. Juggling is good for the mind, I suppose. It keeps you on your toes.
Anyway, Corinne is a champ! She has now expanded her palate to include the fine delicacies of:
- sweet potato
- banana
- avocado
- carrots
- green beans
- peas
I am hesitant to introduce more fruit just yet, as I've read that it could promote a sweet tooth. DO NOT want that. Anyway, next on the list is squash (how do you cook a squash?), rutabaga (what the heck is a rutabaga?), and a few more uninteresting flavors, including broccoli, zucchini, and pumpkin. :) How fun! It is actually pretty easy to make everything, especially since I finally found the right ice cube trays (with silicone bottoms and lids) to freeze the huge batch that I make. Right now, I am only having to prepare something new twice a week. It brings such a feeling of domesticicity to my life. Not that being a mother or wife doesn't....I think it's the cooking part.
I have also added a few "highly motivating" signs to our ASL repertoire. We're trying to use the signs for FAN, LIGHT, CAT, DOG, and BALL. I tried to pick things that she is very intrigued with, which I have read will make more of an impression on her. We've stalemated with the MILK sign, and being a teacher, perfectionist, (and a self professed "type A"), I am ready for results! Until then, her perfect little smile will definitely suffice.
