6 week weight check

After Corinne's 9 month check up, we were instructed to come back 6 weeks later for a "weight check" to gather some more data about her growth patterns. On Jan 22nd she weighed 15 lbs. 10 oz. and grew a little. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to keep her on her 1% growth track, and she "fell off" the chart (dramatic, huh?). The doctor, again, was a little concerned, but did bring up the fact that her illness around new year's (ear infection & cold) could have adversely affected her appetite, which would affect her weight gain. We decided to wait until her year appointment to do any more tests, but she did bring up the possiblity of Celiac disease (gluten intolerance) or some metabolic diseases/disorders. As bad as that sounds, I am trying not to over-react. I keep reminding myself that Ryan was a "late-bloomer" and we both are smaller than average. Even so, I was considering a voluntary gluten-free diet for Corinne, to see if that would make a difference, but I've decided to wait until we find out more in March. Let me know if you have experience with any of those conditions...I am curious.

In other matters, I think Corinne is probably the most adorable baby ever (I can say that, right?). Currently she is still pulling up on all the furniture and "cruising," crawling and chasing the cats, and "talking" more than ever. She will pick up one of her books, point to the pictures and words, and "read" what she is pointing to. She will go on and on for minutes, turning the pages and just talking up a storm. It is adorable, and I am sure that it is some sign of genius. haha. Exaggeration, perhaps, but it makes me so proud.

Oh! and Tooth! We finally have a tooth! I no longer have to sheepishly admit that we are all gums...Moms can take the silliest things so personally. I will post a pic when I get it off my camera. That's all for now...time for some waffles. yea!
