oh how I'll miss thee...

I know I have been m.i.a. for a while; rest assured it is because I am busy busy busy and filling my days with (more often than not) things that I really like to do.  I have been meaning to write this  for a month now, but it seems most fitting for mid-October. This post is dedicated to those of us on the NE side of town who have been inconvienced by the Mexico Gravel "upgrades."  Yes, I am excited about the extra lane.  Yes, I am even more excited about sidewalk access all the way to Vandiver.  However, I can't help but long for the tree(s...yes, I know there was more than one) they had to cut down. You may not have ever noticed it before, but there was an absolutely stunning tree (sunset maple, perhaps?  I'm not certain) as you turned onto the road from Ballenger.  I marveled at this tree every morning as I drove to work, and finally stopped one morning 2 years ago to capture it in all it's autumnal beauty.  

I'm glad I did.  It was a beautiful tree.
