It is here! To mark its release (Feb. 24) I am writing a post as an ode to this newest technological sensation that is plaguing my every waking thought (well, not quite...). If you don't know anything about the Kindle, you need to go check it out here. 1,500 books at your fingertips, a little over 1/3 of an inch thin, 10.2 ounces, and the capability to connect wirelessly to the internet with no monthly charges. I know, I probably sound like some shameless plug, and I just can't help it. I want one badly. Those who know me, know that I am a voracious reader, and lover of technology (well, maybe that last part is a stretch...). Anyway, I have justified the $359 expense for the last...hmm....9 months? I have insisted on less for my birthday, christmas, V-Day...any conceivable holiday with gift-giving involved, I have opted for less in hopes that I will someday (soon?) be able to experience the next generation of e-readers. I'm hoping that when I have a guaranteed job for next year that this purchase can be made... sigh...
